MK1/MK2 Cortina Duratec to Mazda MX5 N7 Two Piece Prop Shaft – Steering Rack (MX5-044)

Heavy-duty two-piece propshaft for fitting a Ford Duratec engine with a Mazda MX5 N7 gearbox into a MK1 or MK2 Cortina using the Retroford Duratec rack and pinion conversion kit.

Due to the distance between the gearbox and differential in the Cortina, Retroford uses a two-piece propshaft incorporating a centre bearing. This helps eliminate the propshaft whip and vibration that can occur when using a single-piece propshaft over this length.

IMPORTANT FITMENT NOTE: This propshaft is designed specifically for MK1 and MK2 Cortina installations using the Retroford Duratec rack and pinion conversion kit. It is not suitable for cars retaining the original steering box or using a different rack and pinion conversion.

DIFFERENTIAL FLANGE: This propshaft is supplied to suit the 86mm small-flange Cortina differential. Please check your differential flange size before ordering.

The complete assembly includes the two-piece propshaft together with the DRT063 centre bearing bracket.
