Ford Xflow & Pre-Xflow 9-Tooth Starter Motor – 2-Hole Fixing (SM001)

This replacement Lucas inertia (Bendix) starter motor is suitable for a wide range of classic Ford models fitted with the standard 110-tooth flywheel ring gear.

The 9-tooth, 2-hole fixing starter is typically the earlier Lucas design, most commonly found on Anglias, Corsairs, Mk1 Cortinas and early Mk1 Escorts.

Important: Due to the age of these vehicles, many have had replacement engines, gearboxes and starter motors fitted over the years. It is therefore quite common to find either a 2-hole or 3-hole fixing starter, and either a 9-tooth or 10-tooth pinion, regardless of what the vehicle originally left the factory with.

In many cases, 2-hole and 3-hole fixing starters are interchangeable, provided they are used with the correct bellhousing and flywheel arrangement. We strongly recommend comparing your existing starter motor before ordering to ensure you receive the correct replacement.
